Dermot McCann is the nominated Registered Provider/Person in Charge and Director of Nursing in AnovoCare Nursing Home. Dermot has overall accountability for all aspects of governance and management in AnovoCare Nursing Home and is also responsible for the overall operational management at AnovoCare. Dermot reports to the Chairperson of the AnovoCare Limited Board of Directors.
Frances Finn is the Assistant Director of Nursing in AnovoCare Nursing Home. Frances is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in providing a high standard of professional practice within a caring environment to our residents. She also deputises for the Director of Nursing in his absence and has a pivotal role in terms of supporting Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in their provision of day to day resident care. She has the lead responsibility in developing and implementing the staff education and training program and the audit program for resident service delivery and reports to the Director of Nursing.
Jennifer Duffy, Mary O’Rourke and Mairead Kenny are the Clinical Nurse Managers. They are responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing in the management and care of Residents on a daily basis. Our Clinical Nurse Managers report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing and deputise for the Assistant Director of Nursing in their absence. Our Clinical Nurse Managers role is to support nurses, healthcare assistants and allied healthcare professionals in assessing, planning, evaluating and organising care and activities for Residents at floor level. Our Clinical Nurse Managers provide leadership, mentoring and supervision to nursing and care staff and monitor the safety and quality of care and services to Residents.
Our Registered Nurses are responsible for providing person-centred care to each of our Residents as recognized by their individual needs and wishes and as advised by allied healthcare professionals. The registered nurse undertakes assessments of all aspects of possible needs for each of our Residents and develops individualized care plans, which highlight how these needs are to be met. Our Registered Nurses are responsible for monitoring the well-being of our Residents, referring Residents as required to appropriate allied health care professionals and liaising with families. Our Registered Nurses supervises the health care assistants and reports to the clinical nurse managers.
Our HealthCare Assistants are responsible for providing personal and social care to Residents according to their assessed needs and care plans, they report to and are under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Our Activities Co-ordinator delivers a high standard of social care to our Residents through the provision of a weekly activities program, that includes one on one and group activities. These activities are designed following consultation with our Residents and with a recognition of their expressed wishes and interests. Our Activities Co-ordinator works under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nurse Managers.
The Physiotherapist provides;
The Head Chefs design the food menu’s with assistance and input from the Residents, dietician and staff at AnovoCare.
They are also responsible for the implementation of our health and safety policy related to food hygiene, catering and infection control. They also ensures that AnovoCare is adhering to the H.A.C.C.P regulations within the work place and report to the Assistant Director of Nursing.
The Head Chefs with the other heads of departments, meet with the Resident’s committee on a regular basis to discuss food and catering in order to maintain quality assurance in both of these areas. They also provide findings from Resident/relative/advocate satisfaction surveys to all the staff on their team, which helps us improve our standard and quality of service to our Residents.
Mark Taaffe is our Maintenance Manager and his role in AnovoCare is to repair and maintain all areas inside the building and also in our lovely grounds. Mark also assists Resident’s and their families to arrange furniture and fittings in their bedrooms, from putting plugs on hair dryers, to installing televisions/pictures on the walls. Mark reports to the Director of Nursing.
Lesley Keoghan is our Family Liaison Person and Accommodation Manager.
Lesley is the Family Liaison Person in AnovoCare, her role in this respect is to organise viewings of the Nursing Home following enquires. Lesley also liaises with any family members responsible for Residents finances prior to and after admission to the Nursing Home.
Lesley’s role as Accommodation Manager is to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout AnovoCare Nursing Home. Lesley is also responsible for infection prevention/control and helps to create a fresh, clean and warm environment for our Residents, family, relatives and staff and reports to the Director of Nursing.
Yvonne Brady is our Human Resources Manager in AnvoCare Nursing Home and calibrates the Assistant Director of Nursing in maximising employee performances by way of communication, induction, training and performance appraisals.
It is Yvonne’s belief that bringing ‘new fresh talent’ into AnovoCare, can give us all a current perspective and can also bring in new team skill and talents.
As part of the AnovoCare team Yvonne ensures that all staff have been equipped and comprehend all AnovoCare policies and procedures relative to their departments and roles.
The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Nursing.
As part of the AnovoCare team the Human Resources Manager is responsible supervising the recruitment of all new staff and providing them with the correct documentation while ensuring employment standards, legislation and HIQA standards are upheld. The Human Resources Manager also organises mandatory training, and provides training certificates to maintain personnel files. The HR Manager also attends staff meetings, assists with updating HRM policies/procedures and guidelines for AnovoCare Nursing Home.
Our reception team at AnovoCare consists of 4 receptionists and they report directly to the Administration Manager. The receptionists are the first point of contact when you enter AnovoCare and would be responsible for meeting and greeting residents, family members and visitors to AnovoCare. They in conjunction with our Family Liaison Person deal with all telephone calls, queries and arranging viewings and meetings between potential Residents/families and staff. The reception team also arranges appointments for our Hairdressing/Beauty salon and many other services including Resident transport if required.
Dorothy Sharkey, the Administration/Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing all clerical and administrative functions required to support the delivery of services to residents and staff. Dorothy is also responsible for overseeing the Reception Team operations. As Accounts Manager, Dorothy is also responsible for Resident billing, liaising with Residents and families/relatives regarding payments to AnovoCare and retains all contracts of care. Dorothy liaises with the companies both contracted and sub-contracted to AnovoCare Nursing Home. Dorothy is accountable to the nominated Registered Provider and liaises closely with the Financial Controller.
